I just finished reading the book Borderline by Allan Stratton.(takes place right after the 9/11 attack) Sami Sabiri is the only Muslim kid at his private school. He gets picked on everyday by a couple of high school jocks just for being Muslim. His only true friends go to a public school, he barely gets to see them he feels like they've grown apart and is afraid to loose them. Yet things get a whole lot worse when he catches his father in a lie.At first when he finds the unfamiliar phone number he thinks his dad is having an affair.Soon enough the FBI are at their door taking his father away and tearing his house up. Apparently his father is a part of a terrorist attack! the phone number was the number their leader. Sami's house his surrounded with the press and his mother is broken down.
He sets out to clear his families name. He was relived that his father wasn't cheating on his mother because he didn't know how to break it to her but trying to clear his families would in no doubt be a harder task. With the information he found when he was snooping in his fathers computer he know that his father and the so called Tariq would meet in he next couple of days. With the help of his friends Andy and Marty he set of to the city. Would you risk your life in order to try and clear your families name? would you be able to come face to face with a terrorist? would you ask your friends to risk it for you as well.
In my opinion this was a good book. It was able to keep me interested, and guessing the whole time. It differently had a strange twist towards the end of the book. That what i likes most of all. It wasn't something that you saw coming. It also didn't just have a happily ever after.?
I like books with a twist not always happily ever after. This book sounds like a good book with a lot of twists to it
ReplyDeleteWow this is a really strange story... nice post, though. It wouldn't really appeal to me but you phrased it so that it does... nice. :)
